ASU's first step toward e-Learning

Last June 3-6, 2008, the Aklan State University(ASU) conducted the 1st Seminar/Workshop on Online Journalism: Web Writing for Literacy, Cultural, and Historical Content hosted by the School of Arts and Sciences(SAS). The speakers for the said event were Dr. Jose "Butch" Dalisay Jr., Dr. Lily Rose Roxas-Tope, and Dr. Isabela Banzon-Mooney all came from the English Department of the University of the Philippines-Diliman.

This seminar was attended by the english instructors came from the five campuses of ASU. They were trained to use different techniques on writing literature, culture, and history. The speakers gave some tips to the participants based on their experiences. The training ended succesfully.
After the training,the team were treated to Boracay. Dr. Dalisay and his co-trainors were joined by Dr. Mary Eden Teruel, the Dean of SAS, and her ever supportive husband who generously provide the needs of the team.

ASU recieved funds from CICT

ASU was chosen by the Commision on Information and Communication Technology as their counterpart on their projects to boost the ICT Literacy program of the goverment. These project are:

1. Digitization of Pina(from planting to Pina cloth production).
2. Digitization of English Proficiency Module.
3. iLearn Portal
